How To Find a Professional Social Media Consultant – Part 1
Our clients are masters of their craft. They have a unique business model that serves our local communities and I would not even think of trying to mimic what they do without the proper training. On the flip side these same clients realize that the marketing world has greatly changed over the years. Terms such as search engine optimization, pay per click management, Google and Facebook Ad campaigns are expressions that many companies simply do not have the resources to invest the time to get to know what they are.
The next challenge is finding the right company to outsource it to. How do you find a true social media consultant? Where does a business owner begin? This is where it can get tricky. Let’s start with a few points.
Clearly understand where you want to go. Make sure it is more than just: “I need more business.”
Outline what your overall business model is. How did you get your business to where it is today? What marketing methods have you used in the past? Do you know what worked and what didn’t?
Have a clear understanding of what you wish to spend. Do your research. You should have in mind some sort of return on your marketing investment. If you are new to digital marketing overall, be sure to start easy and make sure that the company you use can provide data to show your overall progress.
